This is a team development camp. Rising 9th-12th grade girls are eligible to participate. Speak with your high school varsity coach about participating with your high school team/program. Each day will include team building exercise and activities, in addition to volleyball skill and team tactics work. There will be a mix of individual team training, scrimmaging with other teams, and positional/skill breakouts. Training plans are flexible and may be adjusted and tailored to specific team needs.
Team camp is designed and led by NPJ Director of Volleyball, Mike Gee, who brings 20 years of girls volleyball coaching experience. His many accomplishments are highlighted by a gold medal at the 2019 FIVB Girls U18 World Championship when he served as the technical coordinator for Team USA's Girls U18 National Team. Gee has coached at every level within the USA National Team Program, including multiple trips with both the senior women's and men's national teams. His last trip to the FIVB U18 World Championships with Team USA was in 2021, when the team took home the bronze medal.
This is a great opportunity to get a jump on the season with skill development, team bonding, and competitive play. It’s also a great opportunity for coaching development and learning new and proven teaching techniques for making practices and drills more beneficial. Your team will get to work with each of our expert coaches that include current and former college coaches and players.
Contact Mike Gee at mikegee@npjvolleyball.org for more information and to reserve a spot for your team. Discounted hotel rates may be available with our partner hotels in Salem. Be sure to let us know if you plan to book a hotel in the area.

This means you identify as someone with little to no volleyball experience or up to 2-3 years of YMCA or Boys and Girls Club level playing experience. If you’re a beginner, you might know the basic rules of the game or not. You know how to pass and set, or serve, but you don’t feel that consistent. Beginner level players can make their serve 50% of the time or lower, and it’s not that powerful or difficult to pass. You don't play a specific position yet.
This means you identify as someone with at least one year of club volleyball, in addition to multiple years of YMCA or BNG’s club. Perhaps you’ve played for your middle school team. You feel pretty confident in your skills and you feel like you have a pretty good understanding of the rules of the game. You might not know all the rules, but you know most of them. Intermediate level players can make their serve 70% of the time or higher, and it’s challenging to pass. You’ve got a tough serve. You might have or play a primary position (for example: "I'm a setter" or "I play outside hitter").
