Brittney Nelson - Assistant Coach

Brittney brings both passion and positivity to her role as assistant coach in her first season with NPJ. Growing up in a sports-loving family, she spent countless hours in the gym with her dad, who was heavily involved in coaching, teaching PE, and officiating games. Feeling at home in the gym, Brittney finds every opportunity to engage with the game she loves, whether that be playing or coaching.

Her own coaching journey began in recreational volleyball, leading her middle school team to win a championship in their debut season. With a Master's in Child and Adolescent Development and over ten years of experience as a child life specialist, most recently at Seattle Children's Hospital, Brittney is uniquely qualified to create an environment where players feel valued, empowered, and supported to reach their full potential.

She firmly believes in providing a safe space where players can explore and learn. Recognizing that genuine growth comes when you feel free to make mistakes, she fosters a culture of trust and belief in the players, empowering each individual to develop their best on and off the court. With her upbeat attitude and natural ability to connect with players, Brittney nurtures an environment where individuals can thrive not only as players but also as part of a team.
