Maya Davison- 16 Black Head Coach

I grew up in Vancouver Washington, I played my first year of club volleyball at CC Fusion at the 14s level then played for NW Reign at the 14s and 16s level as well as played one year of high school ball at Prairie High School. I then moved to Dallas Oregon where I played 3 years of school ball at a Dallas High School, with one of those years finishing with a 5th place finish in state as well as a sportsmanship award and an all-league honorable mention award as a libero for the Mid-Willamette Conference. I played two years of club ball at NPJ, one year at the 16s level and the following year at the 18s level. I previously coached at Dallas High School in 2021 and 2022 at the JV2 level and am now coaching at NPJ for my second year. My first year at NPJ I coached at the 14s level and this year I will coach both 16s and 17s. Outside of volleyball I am in attendance at Chemeketa Community College where I just finished my associates degree and am preparing myself for Nursing School.

Colin Smittle - 16 Black Assistant Coach

I was born and raised in Springfield Ohio and lived there for 12 years before moving to Oregon in 2015. I am the 4th child in a family of 6. I grew up always playing sports that were in season such as hockey, soccer, football, basketball, and baseball. I attended and graduated in 2022 from Cascade High School in Turner where I continued to play football in the fall and picked up golf my junior and senior years in the spring while soccer wasn't happening as well. To stay busy in the winter I continued to play hockey for my church's team and spent my Saturday nights practicing down in Eugene. I decided to forgo college and focus on getting my PGM (Professional Golf Management) degree to become a future golf-pro for the state of Oregon. As far as my volleyball background, I started coming to NPJ’s adult open gyms during the Spring of 2022 to become more familiar with the game and I instantly found an extreme interest in the game. My local youth group ended up making a mens team and we started practicing weekly to get ready to play at a youth camp in Norway. After this tournament I continued to show up and play at NPJ for open gyms and the interest for the game only grew. I have been so fortunate to meet and learn from great people such as Mike and AJ and get to the point where I am now. I am so excited to start my first year coaching here at NPJ and continue to meet new people, grow as a coach, and build new relationships within the NPJ family!
