Desi Fink- 14 Black Head Coach

Desi has over a decade of experience as both an athlete and a coach. She began her volleyball career in fifth grade with CYO and continued into high school and club volleyball where she served as team captain for her varsity and club teams in the Portland, OR area. She walked on to the D1 volleyball program at University of Portland while earning her BA in Education. While Desi was a high school and college athlete, she simultaneously coached youth volleyball for CYO and for Pacific Volleyball Club. While teaching in Hawaii, Desi also served as a middle school volleyball coach and athletic director. Currently, Desi is a teacher in Salem where she lives with her family. Desi highly values the lessons in teamwork, perseverance, and trusting one’s instincts that she attributes to time spent on and off the court with her volleyball teammates, coaches, and athletes over the years. She is excited to return to coaching and to be part of the NPJ-Salem team!
