NPJ has adopted the ecological dynamics approach to coaching—and we apply its principles every day through game-like, variable training that transfers to competition. We prioritize representative, competitive practice over repetitive, non-game-like drills so athletes learn to perceive, decide, and execute under real match demands. Our approach is consistent with publicly shared themes from elite programs, including the U.S. Women’s National Team during Karch Kiraly’s tenure: game-representative training, decision-making under pressure, and planned variability.

Our Staff

Our approach is brought to life by a balanced, highly experienced staff led by NPJ Director of Volleyball Mike Gee, alongside college and high school coaches from across the Pacific Northwest. Our coaches share one purpose: teach the game we love and provide a fun, supportive learning environment where every athlete is seen, challenged, and valued.
