Tournament Information:

Each team will attend a minimum of 8 tournaments for the season that are included in club dues. Local teams in Bend will have 6 scheduled tournaments that will be located in Central Oregon.

For the 2020-2021 club season,  dues will not include ANY 3-day tournaments costs or hotel/travel. Due to Covid-19, players will stay with parents or guardians this season during travel tournaments. Costs for 3-day tournaments/qualifiers will be collected 14 days prior to leaving for a tournament so that we avoid having to refund anyone by collecting them now and then having to refund because a tournament does not take place.

3-day tournaments are not guaranteed this season but absolutely an option for all travel teams and something we will add if COVID allows and tournaments are available.

Potential Qualifiers to attend:

USA Volleyball Qualifiers

Triple Crown - Kansas City, MO  February 12-15, 2021  (Currently accepted into this tournament)

Triple Crown - Salt Lake City, UT  June 4th-9th, 2021 ( Currently accepted into this tournament)

High School Volleyball / all multi sports athletes

It is important to us that all athletes have the opportunity to play all sports including this year's High school volleyball season. We will work with all athletes to make sure they are supported in all teams/ sports they want to participate in. We feel it is very important for our athletes to experience the volleyball high school season. That being said, We currently do not have any conflicting practices/ power leagues.

Plan B - Common Questions & Quick Answers:

1) Do I need to register for tryouts to except a position in the club?

Yes. We will be sending out invitations to join our club to everyone who has registered for tryouts.  We will use all information from registration tryouts on team placement day.

2) How much is the initial deposit on December 5th (15U-18U) / December 12th (12U-14U)?

All local teams including 12 & under travel teams will pay a $550 nonrefundable deposit. All teams 13U - 18U will pay a $750 nonrefundable deposit.

3) When are monthly payments due?

On the first of each month. When your athlete is placed on a team, they will receive an email & link to register with their team. At that time, we will set up an automatic payment plan.

4) What if there is a shut down during the season? Will we be refunded?

We will adjust the last scheduled payment depending on days canceled throughout the season etc. We will have automatic payments each month and take off the appropriate amount on the last month of dues owed. You will not be charged for anything we have to cancel. Example: If we needed to shut down for a week in February, the cost will be taken off your May payment or March payment if you are on a local team.

5) What will be included in all club dues this season?

Nike uniforms and gear, practice/gym time, coaches’ pay, 8 tournaments in Oregon and Washington (Local will get 6 tournaments total and only travel in Central Oregon)

6) Do you have any options or programming if we do not want to be on a team?

Yes! We will be offering our Academy program. Each 4-week session will cost $250 for 2 practices a week for 1.5 hours. We will offer 3 months of Academy. (12 weeks total) Academy members will not receive any NPJ gear /uniform or attend tournaments. If your team schedule allows, you can join Academy along with being on an NPJ team.

7) Will this season affect my athletes 2021 year with recruiting? Not if we can help it! We are motivated to help each one of our athletes get connected with coaches and will help provide film, stats, etc. We are proud to say every athlete in our club that has wanted to play at the collegiate level has had the opportunity to do so and we do not plan on breaking that achievement! We promise to help you achieve your goals! For more information with recruiting please call Adam Ellis at 541-908-0536.

8) I am new to NPJ. Can I commit to the club on December 5th or 12th even if I didn’t play last season? How can I make sure my child has a fair chance and evaluation on team placement day? Yes! We are so excited to welcome new members this season! We will be holding a team placement day (tryouts) that will allow us to truly evaluate each player and properly place them on a team. We will also be collecting information from previous club teams/positions your child has experience with so we can have an idea of their level of play before they enter the gym!

NPJ 2020-2021 Season Update as of 12/2/2020 3:00pm

NPJ new and returning members,

Looking at the OHA’s Sector Risk Level Guidance Chart for activity along previous indications by the Governor, we anticipate that both Marion and Deschutes Counties will be classified as “Extreme Risk” in tomorrow’s press briefing by the Governor. The Governor is scheduled to have a press conference Thursday at 1:00pm, so for now we suggest that everyone be prepared for any scenario. We will announce our final determination and other pertinent information Friday afternoon. Until then, stay ready either way and be sure to sign-up for tryout registration if you haven’t already done so.

As we all await the next update from the Governor’s Office, we want to help prepare everyone as best as possible. Where we are right now is as follows:

If the Governor’s Office announces that Marion and/or Deschutes County is designated as “Extreme Risk,” then in-person tryouts will be off, and Plan B will be initiated (Plan B information can be found on our website by clicking on the 2020-2021 Season tab). If Marion and/or Deschutes County is designated as “High Risk” or lower, then in-person tryouts will be a go (with whatever restrictions that apply).

We have been fielding many similar questions, and so far, most of these questions have to do with what our contingency plans are in the event that in-person tryouts do not happen. You can find those questions and answers below.
. We’ll continue to answer all of your questions as quickly as we can. We will also post an informational video for everyone
on Friday December 4th at 1:00pm that will go over additional information for the upcoming season.

As always if you have any questions please feel free to reach out.

Thank you all. Be safe. Be ready. Be signed up for tryouts! We are looking forward to a great club season, Go NPJ!

Plans for the 2020-2021 Season - Updated on 11/30/2020 (Bend & Salem)

NPJ Families & new members joining NPJ for the 2020-2021 season,

Below is an overview of our current contingency plans for the 2020-2021 season. Should state and local COVID-19 restrictions prohibit us from holding in-person tryouts on Dec. 5 and Dec. 12, we will initiate Plan B.

NPJ Club Tryouts are finally here, and by the looks of things, there is a strong possibility that state and local restrictions (2-week freeze extension on indoor athletic activities) will impact our original plans. Don’t worry, we’ve been working on multiple contingency plans since May and have you covered. While we remain hopeful that we will be able to hold in-person tryouts, the likelihood of in-person tryouts not happening can’t be ignored. Therefore, we believe it is time to reveal what our first contingency plan looks like for this season’s tryouts as well as the 2020-2021 season itself.

Back in May, it was clear to us that we would need to have several backup plans ready to go at a moment’s notice. Since then, we have been working on a Plan A, Plan B, and Plan C for tryouts. Plan A would follow a relatively normal in-person NPJ tryout format, just with limited capacity and reduced time in the gym. Plan B would not include in-person tryouts, at least not in the way that you are accustomed to seeing. Details are laid out below.

If there is anything that we have learned from 2020, it’s that these young athletes are remarkably resilient and capable of overcoming incredible adversity. They deserve a lot of credit and we look forward to watching them take what they have learned and apply it to their game. One silver lining worth noting, is that watching these young athletes overcome challenge after challenge has been really encouraging and gives us plenty to look forward to as we get ready to kick off the 2020-2021 club season. Let’s go!

In the event that we are not permitted to hold in-person tryouts, we want you to know that we will still be able to accommodate a full club program for our athletes and families. We acknowledge that there are still some unknowns, but the plan we have in place will allow us to provide a club volleyball season for your children that is, among other things, safe and flexible.

Below is an overview of our current contingency plans for the 2020-2021 season. Should state and local COVID-19 restrictions prohibit us from holding in-person tryouts on Dec. 5 and Dec. 12, we will initiate Plan B.

Plan B - The Contingency Plan

Starting on each age group’s tryout date, we will be offering spots in our club to anyone registered for NPJ Tryouts for the 2020-2021 season December 5 (for ages 15 and older) and December 12 (for ages 14 and under). There will be an email sent out on either December 5 or 12 with the link that will allow a player to accept their offer with NPJ. Families will sign both an NPJ & CEVA commitment letter and pay a non-refundable deposit. Note that a ‘spot’ in the club does not mean a spot on a specific team. Specific team positions will be determined the week of team placement.

Everyone who registers and commits on their Tryout Day will have a guaranteed position in the club for the 2020-2021 season.

Team Placement Day will then take place on the first available date(s) we are legally able to get back in the gym. Teams will be formed through a tryout and evaluation process and announced at the conclusion of team placement week. We will be using a similar process we used in Seattle a few weeks ago.
